11X17 in watercolor.
This episode of "Finding Bigfoot" will sadly go unaired. I like the dynamic posing though and the nighttime illumination.
I like the smoothness blend of the colors here.
Wow! do you apply watercolor in layers or is each color it's own
I slowly apply light washes of color, starting with a couple shadow tones, and slowly incorporating local color.
Is it more advantageous to start with the cooler shadow colors first?
Yes. Let's say you are working in watercolor and have an ultramarine blue shadow color. If you are painting an orange, the local orange color of the orange will blend perfectly and naturally on top of the blue shadow to create the perfect shadow tone for the orange. It's like magic.
Gorgeous as always!
this one makes my stomach hurt... this is sick man... love it
really good stuff.
I appreciate your very concept of harmony of colors! Perfect!
Another beauty. Just curious, when you use watercolor in your air brush for background tones etc do you mix up the color from tube watercolors or do you use some kind of liquid watercolor?
for airbrush I just water down the color from the tube. Not to wet though or it beads up. I try to use as little airbrush as possible.
Your ability to lay down such nice smooth tones over large areas is amazing. Do you build up the painting in grays first ala Alex Ross then go over that with the color washes or do you just jump into the color?
The angle and composition of that painting is just tremendously awesome.
damn, i almost feel like this things gonna grab a hold of me...
Awsome use of blue!! great prospective as well.
Hey Mike, this is badass! Love the color scheme too!
