I am guessing the black water color gives you that gray... do you water it down? why not black ink?

black ink is ok, but once it's down it stays down. You can remove black watercolor to an extent if it gets too dark.

This stuff seems a bit more "comic booky" than you usual super realistic drawing style which works really well here. Since most of your figure work has some photo reference, I'm curious how you handle making imagined figures work in a realistic setting...I assume you are making up the Iron Man etc...

Oh, yeah on the critics issue....it looks like Hawkeye's arrow is on the wrong side of the bow...I know he's good and all but just fyi ;)
