I don't know how qualified I am to give a critique but for me, the strengths of this piece are is textures. The fabric of the pants (of the man on the receiving end of the boot) is subtly different than the brick of the building and the leather of the Bat's boots. It doesn't look "flat" but rather, each surface tends to have it's own texture. Look at the metal of the gauntlets, the sheen of Bat's cowl and you'll see what I mean. I think this piece is astounding for that reason - but not JUST that reason.
